Flatwork Questions
What homeowners ask before scheduling a patio, walkway, or pad.
What counts as flatwork?
Anything horizontal that has to stay horizontal: patios, sidewalks, walkways, garage pads, porches, shed slabs, pool decks, basement floors. We pour the flat stuff that the rest of the house relies on.
How thick should a residential concrete patio be?
Four inches over a properly compacted base is the standard for residential patios. We can go thicker if heavy furniture or vehicle traffic is in play. Reinforcement varies by use. The build is specified in the written quote.
How long does a concrete patio take to install?
Most residential patios are one day of forming and prep, one day of pouring and finishing. Cured for foot traffic in forty-eight hours. We work around your weather window.
Can you pour flatwork in winter?
We pour through most of the metro east season but stop when ground temperatures get too cold for proper curing. We tell you straight if the calendar means waiting until spring.
Do you do sidewalks for HOAs or commercial properties?
We focus on residential and small commercial. If your HOA needs a stretch of sidewalk replaced we can quote it. Larger municipal work is not our scope.
